[Global Times Comprehensive Report] According to the US "New York Daily News" reported on November 19, the Chinese giant panda "Dashan," who flew from Chengdu to Canada in 2013 to settle down, has adapted very well to its new environment over the past year. Recently, staff at the Toronto Zoo released a video of "Dashan" skiing, and its joyful appearance had everyone in stitches.
From the video released by the zoo, we can see that Dashan's enclosure is covered in snow, and Dashan is sliding down the hillside atop the snow. Zoo staff said that Dashan actually really loves snowy days, especially freshly fallen snow and snow that is still falling. Dashan will climb up the mountain with some effort, then slide down the slope with ease, climb back up again, flip over and slide down once more — its endearing clumsiness and endless enjoyment are truly heartwarming.
It is reported that "Dashan" has another companion in the zoo, "Ershun." Since they "relocated" to Canada last year, both have adapted well to the relatively cold climate. In 2018, they will move to Calgary, where more international visitors will have the chance to see the two adorable pandas.
