Recently, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the National Tourism Administration jointly identified and announced the list of “2013 National Tourism Service Quality Benchmark Units,” with Zhejiang New Century Hotel Management Co., Ltd. and seven other organizations across the country being awarded the title of “2013 National Tourism Service Quality Benchmark Unit.”
In order to implement the State Council’s “Quality Development Outline (2011–2020)” and the “Several Opinions on Promoting the Reform and Development of Tourism,” and in accordance with the requirements of the “Notice on the Selection of 2013 National Tourism Service Quality Benchmark Units” jointly issued by the National Tourism Administration and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the two authorities jointly launched the “2013 National Tourism Service Quality Benchmark Units” selection process in early July this year. Candidate units had to go through a series of evaluation procedures including joint recommendations from local tourism and quality inspection departments, voluntary application, preliminary and final reviews by expert panels, as well as public announcement of results. New Century Hotels Group met the criteria of high service quality, sound credit status, strong quality management, high customer satisfaction, exemplary fulfillment of social responsibility, recognition by customers, industry peers, and society, self-declaration of product and service standards, public commitment to key service quality metrics, and willingness to be subject to public supervision. As a result, it was selected as one of the “2013 National Tourism Service Quality Benchmark Units,” with only eight organizations nationwide receiving this honor.
A spokesperson for New Century Hotels Group stated that for a long time, the group has been committed to creating high-quality products and providing top-tier services, striving to offer guests a blend of Eastern culture and international standards. Starting in 2012, New Century Hotels Group comprehensively promoted the pilot work of tourism standardization, requiring all hotels to attach great importance and actively strive to strictly implement various standards. By leveraging management platforms and standardized systems, and through methods such as product development, quality control, and business guidance, the group has effectively helped hotels continuously improve service quality and management standards, ensuring the steady advancement of New Century hotel chain operations toward standardization and professionalism—with commendable results. New Century Hotels Group has now entered the global top 50 hotel groups and has successively been honored with quality-related awards such as the “Xiaoshan District Government Quality Award,” “Hangzhou Municipal Government Quality Award,” “Quality Work Advanced Unit of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, and Shanghai,” “2013 Zhejiang Provincial Government Quality Award Nomination Prize,” and “China Association for Quality Technology Award.” It has also been selected as one of the “Second Batch of National Tourism Standardization Demonstration Units.”
The spokesperson also added that moving forward, New Century Hotels Group will continue to explore more effective service quality management models in accordance with the requirements set forth in the relevant notices issued by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the National Tourism Administration. The group will publicly disclose its main service quality standards and quality management methods, proactively cooperate with relevant departments in experience sharing, promotion, and implementation of service quality improvements, fully leverage its exemplary role, continuously enhance service quality levels, and better meet the service needs of its guests.
