Recently, the first China Wudang Mountain Taiji Lake · Outdoor Martial Arts Culture Festival, jointly organized by the China Outdoor Exploration Alliance, the Wudang Mountain Special Zone Management Committee, and Hubei Wudang Taiji Lake Cultural Tourism Co., Ltd., was grandly held at the Taiji Lake tourist area. Hundreds of outdoor sports enthusiasts from outdoor clubs across more than 10 provinces and cities gathered here to participate in a three-day grand event. This is another remarkable martial arts event at Taiji Lake following the gathering of martial arts masters who competed for roles in the TV series “The Legend of the Swordsman.”
Taiji Lake’s vast expanse of azure waters
A millennia-old Taoist sacred site and a mysterious, romantic beautiful lake evoke boundless imagination. Wudang Mountain is one of China’s most renowned Taoist sacred sites, with Taoist architecture spread throughout the mountain. The Wudang martial arts nurtured here also carry distinct Taoist cultural characteristics. As early as August this year, Zhang Jizhong, the “master” behind “The Legend of the Swordsman,” brought the main production team to Taiji Lake, where they challenged various water activities and showcased the heroic spirit of martial artists. While continuously showcasing its own tourism features, the Taiji Lake tourist area has gradually become the transcendent, carefree world of martial wanderers in the hearts of many.
