The Qaidam Grand Cliff (provisional name) is located 25 kilometers east of Shizibaleqier in the North Xujigou Valley, Delingha City, at an altitude of 5,234 meters. With a vertical drop of over 500 meters, it is currently the tallest known cliff in China in terms of vertical height. The "Explore Qaidam" activity has carried out a series of surveys on the cliff, identifying it as an outstanding mountain resource suitable for sports and leisure tourism destinations, rock climbing challenge events and training bases, as well as mountaineering education and training centers. Currently, this cliff (mountain peak) does not have an official geographical name. II. Naming Contest Timeline and Scope
1. Naming Period: From now until March 30, 2015.
2. Contest Scope: Open to the public nationwide (including foreign nationals). Everyone is welcome to participate.
III. Submission Methods
1. Those submitting via email may send their entries to the dedicated email address for this naming contest, clearly indicating “Qaidam Grand Cliff Naming Contest” in the subject line.

IV. Naming Requirements:
1. Entry Requirements
(1) The name should be catchy, easy to spread, carry positive connotations, and be free of ambiguity in usage;
(2) It should reflect the cultural characteristics of the Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture;
(3) It must not duplicate any well-known cliffs or scenic areas, either domestically or internationally;
(4) Each submission must include a written explanation of at least 100 words, demonstrating an appreciation and alignment with ideals of culture, ecology, environmental protection, and sustainable development, while reflecting a contemporary spirit;
(5) All submissions must be original, never before published in any form or made known to the public in any way;
2. Notes
(1) Each naming proposal must consist of the proposed name and its explanation. Each participant may submit up to three naming proposals;
(2) All submissions will not be returned; please keep a copy for your records;
(3) Once a naming proposal is selected, the copyright, usage rights, and publication rights in all media shall belong to the Haixi Prefecture Government, which also reserves the right to modify, combine, and apply the work;
(4) In case of duplicate winning names, priority will be given to the earliest submission based on submission time. For online or email submissions, the upload/submission timestamp will be used; for mailed submissions, the postmark date will be used; for in-person submissions, the time of receipt and sign-off by the organizers will be used.
(5) Entries must be submitted by individuals (including foreign nationals). In cases of multiple collaborators, all contributors must be clearly listed. Participants must truthfully provide their name, gender, address, contact information, ID number, proposed name, and explanation.
1. Selection Method:
The naming selection process will be led by the Haixi Prefecture Tourism Bureau, with participation from a panel of expert judges. The final results will be announced on (Website: http://www.lvye.cn).

2. Award Settings
Based on nominations and voting by the selection committee, 10 finalist entries will be selected, and among these finalists, the following awards will be given:
(1) First Prize: 1 winner (Grand Prize), awarded RMB 20,000 + sponsor products + a 5-day double-occupancy tour of Haixi Prefecture.
(2) Second Prize: 2 winners, each awarded RMB 5,000 + sponsor products + a 3-day double-occupancy tour of Haixi Prefecture.
(3) Nominee Awards: 7 winners, each awarded RMB 2,000 + sponsor products.
VI. The organizer reserves the right of final interpretation for all rules of this contest. Any matters not covered herein shall be further regulated or interpreted by the organizer.
