With the signing of the FTA between the governments of Korea and China and increasingly active corporate exchanges, the number of Chinese visitors to Korea and Korean visitors to China has been steadily increasing. To promote the revitalization of exchanges between Korea and China and provide better tourism services for Chinese tourists visiting Korea, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea have established the "Korea Visit Privilege Card" system; and on December 13, 2014 (Saturday) from 11:00 to 14:00, the first “Korea Visit Privilege Card Introduction Ceremony” was held at the West Hall on the 2nd floor of the Hilton Shanghai Hongqiao Hotel, with dozens of domestic media outlets invited to cover the event on site.
The Korea Visit Privilege Card offers the following benefits to Chinese tourists visiting Korea: First, simplified visa procedures and eligibility for multiple-entry visas (up to 5 years); second, access to VIP lanes during entry and exit; third, exclusive discounts and VIP services from 12 partner companies including department stores, duty-free shops, comprehensive health check-ups, cosmetic surgery, entertainment, airlines, and hotels.
The successful conclusion of this “Korea Visit Privilege Card Introduction Ceremony” provides an opportunity for 6 million Chinese tourists visiting Korea annually to enjoy better services and privileges in Korea.
