On Christmas Eve, the infrastructure project for the expansion and quality upgrade of the Tianzi Mountain Cableway in Wulingyuan Scenic Area, Zhangjiajie, officially commenced. The cableway will be suspended starting from New Year’s Day 2015.

It is reported that the No. 1 elevator of the Bailong Elevator has already completed its expansion, with both its carrying capacity and speed increased. The No. 2 and No. 3 elevators are also scheduled to complete their expansion in the first quarter of next year. By then, the world record for “the fastest and highest-capacity sightseeing elevator” will be refreshed, achieving self-transcendence. More importantly, this move will effectively alleviate or resolve the long queues for getting on and off the mountain, saving tourists more time to admire Zhangjiajie’s breathtakingly beautiful scenery.
