On December 27, the second edition of the Green Field Youth Ski League and the first stop of the Skiing Carnival were successfully held at Beijing Wanlong Bayi Ski Resort. Organized by the Beijing Municipal Sports Federation, the event saw over fifty young skiers participate in the competition. During the skiing carnival, they walked the red carpet, showcased their gear, and thoroughly enjoyed the fun of ice and snow. In addition, the young participants and their parents expressed their heartfelt wishes for the successful bid of the 2022 Winter Olympics by leaving colorful handprints in a playful manner.
In recent years, the number of young people in China who enjoy skiing has been steadily increasing, with no shortage of near-professional or even professional-level young athletes. This winter, Green Field will continue to host the second Youth Ski League. Coinciding with Beijing and Zhangjiakou’s joint bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics, Green Field, in collaboration with the Beijing Municipal Sports Federation, has incorporated four activities — the Youth Ski League, the New Year’s Eve Ski Light Show, the Bird’s Nest Ski Carnival, and the Burn Party — into the “Beijing Happy Winter Ice and Snow Activities” organized by the Beijing Municipal Sports Federation. Among them, the Green Field Youth Ski League will be held at three locations: Beijing Wanlong Bayi Ski Resort, Heilongjiang Pingshan Shenniu Ski Resort, and Hebei Chongli Dolomiti Ski Resort. In today’s opening event, young athletes competed in both alpine and snowboard events, divided into two age groups: 6–9 years old and 9–15 years old. The top three winners in each category received prizes such as ski suits, helmets, and book gift packs, provided by children’s ski brands like Little Donkey Andi and Parker.
The most “inspirational” moment of the day was undoubtedly the pre-event “2022 Watch Me” theme activity, where young skiers and their parents expressed their wishes for the successful bid of the 2022 Winter Olympics by leaving colorful handprints. The collected handprints formed a colorful Olympic rings display, symbolizing “today’s youth, tomorrow’s champions.”
Even more “adorably cute” moments came during the afternoon Skiing Carnival, where young skiers donned their favorite cartoon costumes and put on a fantastic fashion show on skis, bringing everyone a burst of joy and excitement inspired by ice and snow.
