Tourism Center / Comprehensive Report

This year features a leap sixth month, and many people are mindful of the traditional Ghost Month (folklore month) and hesitant to swim. If you want to hit the beach before autumn officially arrives, now is the time to go! Aside from popular spots like Jibei Beach, there are two lesser-known hidden island paradises in Penghu that require taking a yacht from the main island. With the weather still pleasantly warm, quickly slip into your swimsuit and dive into a midsummer night’s dream!

1. Pengpeng Beach
Located northeast of Penghu’s main island, “Pengpeng Beach” is a relatively lesser-known coral reef island, formed from the accumulation of coral fragments, shells, and quartz from nearby Jibei and Yuanbei Islands. The gradient-hued waters paired with snow-white sands sparkle under the sunlight, creating the illusion of being on a tropical island abroad.

The most unique aspect is that the island is divided into two contrasting areas—one side is ideal for water activities, attracting those who enjoy a bustling vibe, while the other is a protected tern habitat, like a secluded island paradise where visitors seeking tranquility can unwind for an afternoon.

It’s worth noting that there are no fixed boat services to Pengpeng Beach. Visitors need to inquire at the Beihai Visitor Service Center. The boat ride from Beihai takes approximately 30 minutes.

2. Forget-Worry Island
Comprising 90 islands of varying sizes, Penghu’s “Forget-Worry Island” is an uninhabited ecological protection zone. With its seamless blend of sea and sky, it’s been dubbed the “Maldives of Taiwan.” Just seeing this scenery is enough to make all your worries drift away into the ocean.

It boasts world-class geological formations, and when snorkeling in its crystal-clear waters, you’ll be surrounded by vibrant coral reefs, making it feel like a natural aquarium. You can also visit the nearby uninhabited islet “Toujin Islet” during low tide to admire its tidal pools, presenting a postcard-perfect scene.
