In the early hours of January 11, 2015, Beijing time, the seventh stage of the car category in the 37th Dakar Rally took place. Zhou Yong of the Perfect China "Merry Year Great Health" Yong Team finished the stage in 20th place, moving his overall ranking up to 14th — also marking his best historical result in the Dakar. The official Dakar website praised Zhou Yong’s performance in the first six stages that day with the headline “THE RISE OF ZHOU.” Since he first competed in the event in 2005, Zhou Yong had previously achieved three 19th-place finishes. Liu Kun of the East Racing Team finished Stage 7 in 35th place, placing 59th overall. Argentine driver Trinidad of the MINI team claimed his third stage win of this year’s race with a time of 3 hours, 31 minutes and 18 seconds, while Qatari ace Al-Attiyah continues to lead the overall standings.
