The other night (February 1st), I received a call. Stepping out onto the balcony to answer it, I was caught off guard by the news on the other end of the line amid the cold wind: Mr. Yeager had passed away in Hong Kong. It was unexpected and shocking. Just a few days earlier in Beijing, he had been sitting with us in a café, discussing the specifics of the 2015 Asia Outdoor Show. He had felt so close, just like the brightest winter sunshine in Beijing. This is not an article detailing Mr. Yeager’s life story, nor is it a sentimental piece filled with grief. This is simply a letter — a heartfelt message from the Ningfei family, addressed to Mr. Yeager as family.

We are glad to report that both the Asia Outdoor and Asia Bike exhibitions, born from the China-Germany collaboration, have now taken deep root in China and in Nanjing. Everything is steadily progressing toward the goals Mr. Yeager had envisioned. Germany’s Friedrichshafen Exhibition GmbH will carry on his mission, sparing no effort to continue providing strong support for the Asia Outdoor Show and the Asia Bike Show in terms of market resources and strategic consulting, ensuring the long-term, positive, and healthy development of both events. The mayor of Friedrichshafen, Germany, also plans to visit China as scheduled in 2015. During the trip, the mayor will lead a German delegation to Nanjing to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Asia Outdoor Show with domestic outdoor enthusiasts, witness this milestone achievement in China’s outdoor industry, and pay tribute to Mr. Yeager’s remarkable life. As the team that Mr. Yeager always cared for and entrusted with great responsibility, Nanjing Ningfei and Beijing Demansh will spare no effort to deliver the most sincere and professional exhibitions for China’s outdoor industry. We will give our all to live up to the trust Mr. Yeager placed in us throughout his life.
May you rest in peace, Mr. Yeager!
All staff of Nanjing Ningfei and Beijing Demansh
