Transportation is convenient—just cross the Xinbu Island Bridge to reach the central urban area, and it takes only 15–20 minutes to get to major shopping malls in Haikou. The hotel’s entrance is right at a bus terminus, and although taxis are scarce, the hotel can help arrange one. From the balcony of the hotel room, you can enjoy seamless views of the mountains and the sea, along with the cityscape, creating a peaceful atmosphere. You can even catch glimpses of the city’s vibrancy from your room. It's very cozy.
Friends traveling together commented: The hotel provides all the services expected of a five-star property, along with some distinctive offerings such as hot springs, spa, sauna, swimming pool, yacht dock, fitness center, bicycle rental, Ginza Japanese cuisine, Western buffet restaurant, “Forget-Me-Not Bar” (for singing and drinking), and a teahouse... The service is excellent, and there's a beach. The hotel also offers convenient shuttle service to and from the beach.
Business travelers noted: The hotel lobby is quite spacious and the decor is decent, though not particularly luxurious. Unfortunately, there is no air conditioning in the lobby, which can feel a bit uncomfortable. The lobby bar is often full and quite warm. The guest rooms are spacious, with a tranquil color scheme, central air conditioning, and a well-equipped range of amenities. Two bottles of mineral water are provided for free. The beds are quite wide, measuring about one meter and eighty-two centimeters, and are relatively high off the ground. The bedding is of high quality, making for a very comfortable sleep. The room also has good soundproofing, contributing to a quiet environment.
Family travelers with children mentioned: Haikou Seaview Howard Johnson Grand Hotel is actually located on a sandy area at the river mouth on the western side of Xinbu Island, carved out by the Nandu River and Henggou River. The environment is truly wonderful—sunny, with fresh air, quiet, and comfortable, which pleased the elderly members of our group. We stayed in a luxury riverside view room: the elderly had a twin room, and I had a king room. The guest rooms are spacious, with floor areas of around 30–40 square meters. The floor height is appropriate—I'm 1.82 meters tall and didn’t feel cramped. It’s a high-cost-performance, five-star hotel with excellent internal and external environments, highly recommended. We’ll definitely come back next time.
