Recently, the Luoyang Social Science Exploration and Research Association will organize the "Great Rivers of China: The Primitive Ancient Culture Journey Along the Entire Luo River" activity.
The goal of this activity is to explore the primitive, natural, and undeveloped cultural communities and sites along the Luo River that have not been adequately developed or protected. In the current context of strategic transformation, such an initiative holds significant positive value.
Tourism culture should shift from its previous focus on scenic spots to a form centered around natural and primitive cultural tourism. This activity relies on experts who understand primitive culture, natural culture, and ethnic spiritual heritage. Together with the tour participants, these experts will jointly uncover the Heluo culture and the broader river cultures of China.
The Luo River stretches 467 kilometers, passing through eight counties and cities in Shaanxi and Henan provinces. As a major tributary of the Yellow River, it boasts a rich repository of primitive ancient culture and pristine natural villages (those without concrete structures), such as the Han City ruins and the site associated with the Hetu and Luoshu diagrams. However, under the impact of today’s rapid economic development, many ancient cultures have been challenged by modern influences, leading to excessive development, damage, or even disappearance of ancient cultural sites.
Therefore, the key to protection and rational utilization lies in understanding and studying these cultural sites that remain either undamaged or only partially extant. We must rescue them from the tide of economic development, allowing them to shine anew and preventing the further loss of vanished ancient civilizations.
