Japanese online survey reveals top 10 most beautiful autumn views overseas—Taichung’s Gaomei Wetlands take the crown!

A well-known Japanese travel website, H.I.S., recently announced“I Want to Go There!: Overseas Autumn Scenery Ranking (行ってみたい！海外の秋の绝景ランキング)”top 10 poll results, with the sunset at Gaomei Wetlands in Taichung taking the top spot, outshining autumn leaves from around the globe.

The H.I.S. report described Gaomei Wetlands in Taichung as being like “Taiwan’s Salar de Uyuni,” where the wetlands act as a mirror reflecting the wind turbine avenue of the Taichung Wind Farm, the sky, and the sunset, creating a breathtaking autumn scene. One Japanese commenter shared that they visited on a clear day and witnessed an amazing sunset, while another said, “I really want to go there next time I visit Taiwan—it’s decided!”

The 2nd to 10th spots in the voting results are, respectively, Germany’s Neuschwanstein Castle, Canada’s Maple Road, England’s Lake District, Czech Republic’s Český Krumlov, Croatia’s Plitvice Lakes National Park, China’s Jiuzhaigou Valley, Canada’s Banff National Park, Australia’s Whitehaven Beach, and France’s Burgundy vineyards in autumn.
