The National Taichung Theater was designed by renowned Japanese architect Toyo Ito. Its beamless, column-free curved wall technique is recognized in the industry as one of the “most difficult buildings in the world to construct.” Upon its completion, even Reuters rated it as the “9th new landmark in the world.” But even Toyo Ito himself probably never imagined that the long outdoor staircase outside the grayish-white walls would become such a powerful backdrop for photos.

From the exterior, the walls feature many light blue circles, known as breathing vents. During the day, you can feel the natural light filtering through these vents from the outside; when the indoor yellow lights are turned on, the warm glow seeping outward creates yet another kind of beauty. The grayish-white walls are complemented by a neat outdoor staircase — just standing on it makes for a picturesque photo.
