The Chuckanut 50K trail race was in its 23rd edition by 2015, with a course that traverses the ridgelines of the Chuckanut Mountains. Its race director, Krissy Moehl, is a renowned American female trail runner who won the women's title at the prestigious 2009 UTMB (Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc) while wearing a classic pair of Vasque trail running shoes.
Regarding Krissy Moehl (also known as Kris "Moehl"), the accomplished American female trail runner, she was once a Vasque-sponsored athlete. She won the women's title at the 2009 Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB), one of the most prestigious endurance races in the world, while wearing a classic pair of Vasque Mindbender trail running shoes, setting a women’s course record. She also claimed the women’s title at the 2013 UTMB 100-Mile Trail Race (UTMF) around Mount Fuji. Having participated in over a hundred long-distance trail races and winning more than half of them—especially excelling in 100-mile events—Krissy has achieved numerous successes in collaboration with Vasque. Now serving as an organizer of the Chuckanut 50K, she expressed great anticipation for testing Vasque’s new products.
