The two parties join forces to provide outstanding energy-saving technologies and solutions for the aviation sector, helping airports achieve energy conservation and emission reduction goals.
Beijing, March 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Recently,Johnson Controlsand Beijing Capital Airport Energy Conservation Technology Service Co., Ltd. officially signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Beijing, establishing a new platform for closer collaboration between the two sides and committing to building greener and smarter civil aviation airports in China. This is also the first strategic cooperation agreement in China's civil aviation airport industry signed between an energy conservation technology service company and a foreign enterprise in the field of airport energy conservation, highlighting Johnson Controls' leading position in the industry.
Wang Tao, General Manager of Beijing Capital Airport Energy Conservation Technology Service Co., Ltd., and Mr. Runsheng Chen, Vice President of Business Development for Johnson Controls Asia Pacific, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties.
According to the agreement, the two parties will leverage their complementary strengths, mutual benefits, equal consultation, and collaborative development principles. Relying on their respective advantages and technical service network resources, they will engage in extensive cooperation in areas such as new, renovation, and expansion projects within civil aviation airports, energy system energy-saving planning, integrated energy conservation and emission reduction solutions, as well as the promotion of new technologies and products, and the future application of cutting-edge industry technologies in airports. Specific initiatives include the continuous development, upgrading, and deployment of airport energy management systems, support for energy-saving and emission-reduction technologies, technical personnel training, and the development of subsequent energy-saving retrofit business.
Runsheng Chen, Vice President of Business Development for Johnson Controls Asia Pacific, said: "We are pleased to collaborate with Beijing Capital Airport Energy Conservation Technology Service Company to expand the domestic airport building energy-saving market. The energy conservation technology service company has unique advantages in airport energy system operation and maintenance and the application of energy-saving technologies. As an industry-leading one-stop building energy-saving solution provider, Johnson Controls has taken the lead in China’s large airport market. In the future, we will work with our partners to bring Johnson Controls' rich global experience, advanced building energy-saving technologies, and comprehensive solutions to more airport clients, helping them create more comfortable and safer airport environments and achieve sustainable development."
According to the State Council’s “12th Five-Year Plan for Energy Development,” by 2015, the energy consumption per 10,000 yuan of GDP nationwide should be reduced by 16% compared to 2010. The “12th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Civil Aviation in China” also clearly states the need to comprehensively advance airport energy conservation and emission reduction efforts. Within five years, significant results should be achieved in energy savings and pollution emission control, with energy consumption per ton-kilometer and carbon dioxide emissions to be reduced by more than 3% compared to the 11th Five-Year Plan period. This undoubtedly presents a significant challenge to energy conservation and emission reduction efforts in the aviation sector.
To achieve the energy conservation and emission reduction goals in the aviation sector, the energy saving and consumption reduction of related buildings and equipment systems at airports are particularly crucial. Previously, Johnson Controls had collaborated with the energy conservation technology service company to develop an airport energy management system, which is the first comprehensive integrated software platform in China’s civil aviation industry that monitors, controls, and provides strategies for energy consumption across various facilities in airports, including terminals and energy stations. Later phases will also enable the uploading of various airport data based on this platform to establish an airport energy internet platform.
Wang Tao, General Manager of Beijing Capital Airport Energy Conservation Technology Service Co., Ltd., said: "Energy saving and consumption reduction at airports are of great significance for implementing the strategy of building a strong civil aviation nation and achieving the requirements of constructing a green civil aviation outlined in the 12th Five-Year Plan. Johnson Controls has worked with us for many years, and both parties have unique advantages in our respective fields. The products and services we jointly provide will be closer to and more accurately meet customer needs, helping to accelerate the energy-saving and emission-reduction efforts of civil aviation airports. The potential for cooperation between the two parties is enormous, and we are full of confidence in our future collaboration."
