The 2015 Shanghai Self-Drive Tourism Expo and RV Camping Exhibition, themed “Love Life, Love Travel, Love Self-Driving,” will grandly open at the Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center from April 23 to April 26. This edition of the expo is hosted by the Shanghai International Automobile City, Shanghai East Best Exhibition Co., Ltd., and the “Cross-Strait” Magazine, and organized by Shanghai Youqing Exhibition Co., Ltd.
This event has received support from self-drive tourism clubs and car enthusiast associations across the country, and has partnered with well-known domestic and international businesses in the automotive, RV, outdoor, and camping equipment industries. It has also invited numerous exhibitors including tourism bureaus, attractions, scenic spots, campgrounds, travel agencies, clubs, and industry websites from both home and abroad. By delving deeper into the exploration and development of self-drive tourism and camping resources, as well as through uniquely designed booth layouts and experiential activities, the event allows self-drive enthusiasts to fully engage their senses—sight, hearing, smell, and taste—to experience the travel charm of various regions, gain comprehensive insights into self-drive tourism-related industry products, and choose new vacation methods that combine self-drive destinations with camping sites and attractions on the exhibition platform, thus realizing their self-drive tourism dreams.
The Shanghai International Self-Drive Tourism Expo and RV Camping Exhibition adheres to the principle of “high-frequency, high-density, and wide-ranging promotion of self-drive tourism resources.” It aims to provide a platform for promoting brands and selling products for all industries related to the self-drive camping sector, and to offer self-drive tourism enthusiasts a platform where they can experience self-drive-related products and services firsthand. With the increasing national attention on the RV camping industry, relevant laws and regulations have gradually been improved. On April 8, 2015, in order to implement the requirements of the “Several Opinions on Promoting the Reform and Development of Tourism” (State Council Document [2014] No. 31), the Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security issued a notice requiring local public security traffic management departments to accurately understand the definition of “full trailer trucks” and effectively guarantee the right of passage for recreational trailers. As a result, RV campgrounds have begun to gain national recognition, and the spring of China’s self-drive (RV) tourism industry has truly arrived.
