The China Hotel Starlight Awards was established in 2005. This recognition program celebrates the outstanding achievements in the hotel industry over the year and honors brand enterprises that have made significant contributions to the industry and driven competitive development in China’s hospitality sector. This marks the first time the "China's Most Anticipated Green Hotel" award has been introduced, and Element is the first and only hotel brand to receive this honor.
Element Suzhou Science and Technology Town is set to grandly open in May 2015, marking the entry of the green brand Element into the Asia-Pacific region. Since the brand’s launch in 2008, Element has been committed to ensuring that all its hotels meet LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification standards, making it the first international hotel brand to focus on this. As a “green” hotel brand, Element Suzhou Science and Technology Town incorporates multiple eco-friendly technologies and facilities in its overall design, with an estimated maximum energy savings of 65% during future operations. The building features a figure-eight design, allowing 90% of main areas to benefit from natural daylight, maximizing indoor natural lighting. Environmentally friendly materials are used as much as possible, such as carpets made from recycled materials in guest rooms, and printed materials also utilize recycled content. To improve indoor air quality, low-VOC paints and antimicrobial carpet pads are used. In addition, the hotel will be completely smoke-free. Guest rooms are equipped with Electrolux Energy Star-rated kitchen appliances, feature low-flow faucets, compact LED light bulbs, and energy-saving electrical devices. The rooms offer filtered direct drinking water systems instead of bottled water, and public areas are furnished with environmentally friendly recycling bins for detailed waste sorting by metal, plastic, glass, paper, and cardboard, promoting the concept of green living. Furthermore, the fitness center includes kinetic charging equipment and saltwater pools, showcasing sustainable environmental practices.
