It’s that time of year again — the period around May Day is a golden travel season for many. How can you still enjoy a spontaneous trip even when on a tight budget? Many travelers carefully plan every detail, whether it’s snagging cheap flights, hotels, and other deals, or meticulously preparing travel itineraries. Preparing for a trip can be an enjoyable experience in itself. Recently, to help travelers have a more pleasant and carefree journey during the May Day holiday, JD Life & Travel officially launched its first-ever Airfare Festival, featuring generous coupon giveaways and opportunities to grab flights for just a few yuan.

According to reports, this is JD.com’s first major push in the lifestyle and travel sector. The event runs from May 7 to May 17. During this period, the flash sale section will offer flights from Beijing to Dalian for as low as 5.7 yuan, and round-trip flights from Beijing to Hong Kong for 57 yuan. Local services needed in Hong Kong, such as phone cards and Octopus cards, will also be discounted. The coupon section includes various tiers such as a free 200-yuan coupon for orders over 3,000 yuan, a 150-yuan coupon for orders over 2,000 yuan, and an 80-yuan coupon for orders over 1,000 yuan — essentially giving direct cash subsidies to travelers.

In addition, during the JD Airfare Festival, there is a special international and Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan airfare promotion zone, covering almost all popular travel destinations including Hong Kong, Tokyo, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, New York, Jeju Island, and Singapore. The booking prices are extremely affordable, offering great value for those planning overseas trips. Aside from essential travel items like flights and local services, JD has also selected outdoor gear, cosmetics, sun protection products, and more — all with significant discounts. During the festival, travelers can find a one-stop shop for all their travel needs.

It has become common for e-commerce platforms to create their own shopping festivals. Large-scale ones include Tmall’s Double Eleven and JD.com’s 6.18, and there are also niche online shopping events in various sectors. This time, JD.com is making a big move around the May Day holiday, focusing on flights, hotels, and travel gear with attractive deals, showing its ambition to create a 6.18-level event in the travel lifestyle sector. As May 7 approaches, the JD Airfare Festival will continue to roll out a wider variety of travel-related products, giving travel enthusiasts a truly festive experience.
