Shanghai, May 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — The world is so vast, you might not be able to see it all even if you quit your job. But the good news is that Taobao on the Way, China’s largest free independent travel e-commerce platform, in collaboration with Shanghai’s most renowned Nautilus Market, will present a gourmet and foreign goods market where you can experience the authentic traditions of five continents without leaving the country. Additionally, the event site will feature interactive activities such as Indian henna tattoo painting, Japanese kimono try-ons, and hippie-style dreadlocks.

During the event, the Basilica Hall at 1933 Old Millfun will be transformed into the “World Awaits You – Global Travel Carnival.” According to staff from organizer Taobao on the Way, this grand global carnival will be divided into four major sections: “World Market,” “Global Gourmet Bazaar,” “Discover the Most Wonderful World SHOW TIME,” and “Meet the Travel Style Experts.” The “Global Gourmet Bazaar” alone will feature authentic cuisines from over 30 countries across five continents, including famous Moroccan mint tea, Thai mango sticky rice, American hamburgers, British handmade pastries, Swedish meatballs, Japanese sushi, Italian Florentine tripe sandwiches, and Belgian fries. Meanwhile, 110 varieties of craft beers from around the world will also make their first appearance at a Shanghai market.
In addition, the staff noted that since there will be many free experiences and interactive activities on the day, for safety reasons ticket sales will be limited on-site and discounted tickets will be available online (30 RMB per ticket on-site; 25 RMB per ticket online). Therefore, those interested are encouraged to purchase tickets early. First-time app download users can also enjoy an additional 10 RMB new user registration discount on top of the online ticket discount.
