A classical and jazz music feast in Taipei hotels: "Irgen Jazz Quartet"

The jazz band at Shanghai's Peace Hotel has a long history and has become a renowned tourist attraction. Now, Taipei hotels also welcomethe Irgen Jazz Quartet (Irgen Jazz Quartet), led by jazz pianist and former senior diplomat in Japan, Mr. Zhao Yunhua, who performs every weekend at the hotel.

Ms. Yvonne Yeh, the second-generation owner of Irgen Garden Hotel who promotes musical activities,Ms. Yvonne Yeh of Irgen Garden Hotel, herself a music enthusiast, said she hopes to provide music lovers in Taipei’s metropolitan area with an atmosphere that combines fine dining, premium drinks, and music—similar to the old jazz bar at Shanghai’s Peace Hotel—creating a cultural hub for urban culture, tourism exchange, and artistic sharing.

The soul of the ensemble, Mr. Zhao Yunhua, formed this jazz band with top domestic jazz musicians after retiring from Japan in July 2014. The group features a classic jazz style and has been invited to perform at numerous music events over the past two years, receiving widespread acclaim. The members include: Piano – Mr. Zhao Yunhua (leader), Saxophone & Clarinet – Mr. Lin Binghong (Art Chang) (music director), Double Bass – Mr. Chuang Chia-wei, Drums – Mr. Lin Sen-yuan.
