Otto F. Wachs, CEO of Volkswagen Autostadt, expressed his gratitude to visitors, nearly 1,000 employees, and management executives for helping the Autostadt achieve what it is today. He also reflected on the theme park's early days: "In the months leading up to the opening of Volkswagen Autostadt in 2000, we were uncertain about how it would develop in the years to come. But we believed in our vision — of course, there were no guarantees of success. Since then, we have tried many things. We have not only 'replicated' the Autostadt in Germany, but also across Europe. Meanwhile, our theme park on the Mittelland Canal has welcomed over 30 million guests, making it the world’s leading automotive destination. These special events celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Autostadt are our heartfelt way of saying thank you."
The celebration concluded with a dance party, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display that became a highlight of the festivities. Over the weekend, approximately 35,000 visitors attended the celebration. Guests also saw the 48-meter-high "Car Tower" decorated with the celebratory message “15 Years.”
