With just days left until the fun and freaky Halloween, many hotels have already launched a variety of spooky or wacky dishes to celebrate the occasion. Among the most shocking offerings is The Regent Taipei, which—following last year’s (2015) severed arm burger—is this year (2016) introducing a “head cracked and bleeding” cake. The Regent Taipei
The pastry chefs at The Regent create bizarre yet delightful treats every year, such as “Eyes That Won’t Blink” and “The Silent Earthworm.” This year, they’ve taken the fright factor to a new level with the “Head Cracked and Bleeding Cake.” Made with fondant to resemble the texture of a brain and a chocolate shell for the skull, the dessert also features realistic laver “hair.” It's displayed on the dessert counter for guests to help themselves. Cutting into the head is definitely a test of bravery.
