Flowers vie in beauty through the seasons, zongzi compete in novelty. As the Dragon Boat Festival approaches, the 2015 Beijing Dragon Boat Race, steeped in traditional Chinese culture, is set to kick off at the Jinhaihu Tourist Resort in Pinggu District. Thanks to the joint efforts of the organizers, co-organizers, and hosts, this year’s dragon boat race has been comprehensively upgraded. In addition to the continued development of the “2015 Jinhaihu Dragon Boat Race,” this year also sees the debut of the “2015 Jinhaihu International Dragon Boat Invitational.” The Jinhaihu Dragon Boat Race is jointly organized by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports, the People’s Government of Pinggu District, the Beijing Sports Federation, and the World Chinese Sports Games, and hosted by the Jinhaihu Tourist Resort in Pinggu District, Beijing. The event aims to promote traditional Chinese festival culture and foster the exchange and development of sportsmanship and culture both in China and internationally. It is reported that the two main events will be held on June 13 and June 14 respectively at the “Water Sports Center” within the Jinhaihu Resort in Pinggu District, Beijing.
On June 13, during the “2015 Jinhaihu Dragon Boat Race,” dragon boat elites from eight urban districts of Beijing, along with enthusiasts from enterprises such as Shanshui Wenyuan and Jinhaihu, will gather to compete in head-to-head races over 250-meter and 500-meter straight courses. The event adheres to the sports philosophy of “happy fitness,” blending fun, entertainment, competitive sports, and traditional culture, allowing both participants and spectators to experience the spiritual strength and cultural charm brought by the dragon boat races.

“Thirdly, we place great emphasis on the integration of people with the landscape and culture. Culture is the soul of the scenery. We take it upon ourselves to inherit Chinese culture and engrave it in the hearts of every one of our staff. We require all employees to move customers with sincerity and enthusiasm, rather than just serving them — this is the spirit of the Chinese people. Moreover, every rock, every inch of land, every bird, flower, fish, or insect, and every drop of water here bears the marks of history and culture, each with its own story. This place is not only one of the representatives of Beijing culture but also a treasure of Chinese culture.” Such deep respect and value for nature and culture, along with the rational and wholesome use of natural and cultural resources to serve visitors, is rare among tourist resorts in the Beijing area and commands great respect. Today’s Jinhaihu Tourist Resort has undoubtedly become one of the best holiday destinations in the eyes of both domestic and international tourists.
