Three Newly Signed Hotels to Be Located in Renowned Domestic Leisure Destinations

Shanghai, July 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Wyndham Hotels & Resorts recently announced that its premium brand, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, will continue to accelerate its expansion in the Chinese market, with three newly signed hotels set to open within five years. This marks another significant move following the opening of Wyndham Grand Shenzhen and Wyndham Chongqing Yuelai in February and May of this year, demonstrating the brand’s commitment and confidence in China.

The three newly signed hotels are located in well-known domestic tourism and leisure destinations including Sanya and Huangshan, marking a strategic shift for the group’s premium brand expansion beyond first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, and spreading out to second- and third-tier cities and other regions — reflecting a multi-point growth trend. In recent years, the group has leveraged the strength of its diverse brands to achieve rapid development in China, and the addition of these new signings will further advance the growth of the premium brand. As of March 31, 2015, the group had approximately 900 hotels and over 100,000 rooms in China; meanwhile, more than 135 hotels with over 26,000 rooms are in the pipeline.

“The robust growth of China’s tourism industry in recent years has driven demand in the hotel market, bringing tremendous potential and opportunities for the expansion of our brands in China,” commented Mr. Chenjun Liu, President and Managing Director of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts China, regarding the signing of the premium brand. “We have observed gaps in the high-end hotel market in other parts of China, such as emerging economic hubs, resort cities, and popular natural holiday destinations that have gained traction in recent years. The signings in Sanya and Huangshan respond precisely to current market demands and the expectations of property owners. Once completed, these three hotels will better serve the needs of local leisure and holiday travelers.”

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts’ Three Newly Signed Hotels

Sanya Lihewyndham Hotel
Located in the core area of Hainan, Sanya — the country’s only tropical coastal city — has seen a booming hotel industry, and the arrival of Wyndham’s premium brand will further enhance the landscape along the Sanya Bay coastline. As part of an integrated development, the hotel will feature approximately 400 rooms, along with a fitness center, business center, spa, and leisure facilities including a 2,500-square-meter swimming pool. The hotel is just a 10-minute drive from Sanya Phoenix International Airport and is scheduled to open by the end of 2015.

Wyndham Resort QingShuiBay Hainan
The hotel is situated along the pristine 12-kilometer shoreline of QingShuiBay in Lingshui, renowned as the “Singing Beach” and known as an exceptional leisure destination. As part of an integrated development, the hotel offers access to a private beach and will feature around 200 rooms, with facilities and services tailored to meet the varied needs of leisure, business, and group travelers.

Wyndham Grand Taipinghu Huangshan
As part of a comprehensive tourism development zone, the hotel is located on Talin Peninsula on the north shore of Taiping Lake and enjoys views of the lake. The hotel will have about 300 rooms, one banquet hall, and multiple multi-functional meeting rooms totaling 5,000 square meters. Additionally, the hotel will include three restaurants, a fitness center, spa, and swimming pool. Once completed, it will better serve the varied needs of domestic and international leisure, business, and group travelers. The hotel is scheduled to open in early 2019.
