From July 2 to 4, 2015, the first ISPO SHANGHAI Summer Outdoor Exhibition was successfully held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. MAMMUT—Switzerland’s leading global professional mountaineering and outdoor brand—made a stunning appearance with its Spring/Summer 2016 new products, and both the brand’s Global CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and CSO (Chief Sales Officer) were present in person to lend their support.

This time, MAMMUT showcased its Spring/Summer 2016 product lines for trail running, hiking, climbing, and more. The most eye-catching were its trail running products—which included clothing, shoes, backpacks, hats, and more—with vibrant color schemes and a variety of high-tech materials and technologies that ensured runners’ safety and comfort.

Mr. Rolf Schmid, MAMMUT’s Global CEO and President of the European Outdoor Group (EOG), said: “Compared to regular road running, trail running is more fun and challenging. Road running is usually done in the early morning or evening, and the scenery is mostly just static objects along the roadside. But trail running allows you to be more immersed in nature—on hillsides, by lakes, in fields—breathing the freshest air, with your mind more relaxed.” Mr. Schmid further added: “As we all know, MAMMUT has professional and extensive expertise and experience in mountaineering product design. Most trail running brands start with urban running products, but only MAMMUT transfers professional mountaineering technology into the running field, successfully applying mountaineering product design concepts (such as lightweight and durable performance) to trail running products.”

Additionally, the Easy to Pack concept products in the hiking series offer lightweight designs that can be packed into the smallest possible volume, whether you're trekking through mountain ranges or enjoying leisure travel in foreign lands. The climbing series carries forward 153 years of rope-making craftsmanship, upholding history while innovating, continuously setting new industry standards and trends in product quality and innovation. It also features the world’s first built-in safety harness integrated pants, combining the harness and pants into one for convenient use, allowing seamless transitions between daily life and climbing. Made primarily with GORE-TEX?/span>Pro as the main material, the Mammut Extreme Series all-in-one climbing hard shell suit, the Nordwand Pro HS Suit Men, is among them.

Meanwhile, MAMMUT’s “PROJECT360”takes the mountaineering experience to the next level by allowing audiences to wear special glasses and experience the breathtaking magic of the Eiger North Face through the eyes of climbers—whether looking up or down, viewers can freely switch perspectives. CEO Mr. Rolf Schmid explained: “Our PROJECT360 is somewhat similar to Google Street View, except what we do is mountain scenery. We use special cameras to film our professional mountaineers climbing the Eiger North Face, and then produce a 360° panoramic video in post-production. When viewers put on these special glasses, it’s as if they’re standing at the summit of the North Face. If you look down, it feels like you might accidentally fall off the mountain—it’s a completely immersive experience. Many people, once they take off the glasses, feel the need to hold onto something to keep from falling, the immersion is just like being truly out in nature.”
