During the exhibition, Green Field Network conducted an exclusive interview with Mr. Ma Ruiguo, President of Samsonite (Samsonite) Greater China.
Green Field Network: Will Gregory engage in any online or offline activities?
Mr. Ma: This brand needs to gradually transition from its previous distribution system to a new one. Once this transition is well underway, we may establish a new structure for the overall domestic distribution system. Once that new structure is in place, we will integrate online and offline efforts. Needless to say, online cannot exist without offline, and offline cannot exist without online. For outdoor activities, the experience is very important. We will leverage Gregory’s international reputation to promote it vigorously within China.
Green Field Network: Currently, the Chinese outdoor market is experiencing a phase of slowed sales growth. What strategies will Gregory adopt in response?
Mr. Ma: I feel that in the past decade, outdoor has been the fastest-growing industry in China. The current slowdown feels temporary to me. In the long run, it should still see growth. Most people have solved their issues with food and housing, so travel has actually become an important feature of improved living standards. Currently, professional tourism and adventure tourism are growing rapidly, as are customized travel and unique overseas travel experiences. Therefore, our industry remains an emerging sector, and outdoor tourism is no exception.
