[Mountain Bike Wheel Series]Newly revamped and launched, introducing the lightweight ENDURO HARDTAIL series wheels — ALPINE. The lightweight design of these wheels not only helps you easily tackle rugged terrains but also provides the stiffness needed to confidently handle technical and challenging routes, allowing you to fully enjoy the fun of trail riding. The entire series has been upgraded, now offering more specifications for you to choose from.
Both the R3 disc brake version and the R3 road version come with tubular and OPEN tire options. However, the R3 disc brake version features an asymmetric rim design. This asymmetry enhances the spoke pattern, resulting in even greater stiffness and improved braking performance. The balanced spoke tension achieved through this design is also a key factor contributing to the overall strength of the wheelset.
The R3 disc brake wheelset is a full carbon fiber model with a 38mm rim height and 26mm outer width. It has 24 spoke holes in the front and 28 in the rear, using DSN aluminum nipples.
“When the market began to show demand for road disc brake models, we knew we had to create wheels that were lightweight, sturdy, and highly responsive. The asymmetric design allows us to incorporate a lightweight wheelset with high vertical stiffness and quick responsiveness, perfect for road climbing,” explained Henry Hionjosa, R&D Director of Novatec’s U.S. subsidiary, on the design philosophy behind the R3 wheels, which are ideal for attacking, sprinting, climbing, accelerating, racing, and training.
