BANGKOK, Aug. 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Siam Center, along with the well-known retail development project Siam Paragon, both owned and operated by Siam Piwat Co., Ltd., today announced that Siam Center has been named one of the World’s Top Five Best Designed Retail Centers by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), a leading global organization in the retail real estate industry.

Siam Center is one of the five global winners in the “Design & Development” category of the 2015 ICSC VIVA Awards, recognized for its “Best of Design.” Previously, Siam Center was the Gold Winner of the Asia-Pacific Shopping Centre Awards in 2014 for its innovative design.
In 2013, Siam Piwat and 300 brand owners invested over 1.8 billion Thai baht in Siam Center to complete its comprehensive renovation, marking the largest collaborative project in the history of Thailand’s retail industry.

Ms. Chadatip said: “Since the launch of the new concept, Siam Center has seen nearly 12,000 more visitors per day compared to the previous year. Among these visitors, the number of actual shoppers grew by 34%, which is an amazing figure.
“In addition, the average spending per shopper more than doubled, now reaching approximately 3,000 Thai baht per person per visit. This reflects the success of the collaboration between retailers, brand owners, and Siam Piwat in igniting customers’ enthusiasm for shopping.”
