Tokyo, September 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- To accommodate the growing number of overseas tourists visiting Japan, Lawson Inc.willenable payment by UnionPay cards and ATM cash withdrawals in Japanese yen at its chain of convenience stores. Starting from Saturday, September 24, customers at any Lawson store in Japan (as of the end of August, there were 12,195 stores) will be able to pay with UnionPay credit cards. Starting from Monday, September 28, customers will also be able to withdraw Japanese yen from ATMs at Lawson stores equipped with the latest ATM models (approximately 1,000 stores), using either UnionPay credit or debit cards.

Starting September 24, UnionPay credit cards can be used for payments at any Lawson store in Japan.
At any Lawson store in Japan, including "LAWSON," "NATURAL LAWSON," and "LAWSON STORE 100," customers can make payments using UnionPay credit cards.
