On November 10 Beijing time, Xu Mengtao, silver medalist in freestyle skiing aerials at the Sochi Winter Olympics, recently posted photos on Weibo exposing her “bizarre” experience. The phone she was supposed to receive in the delivered package had been replaced by a pile of miscellaneous items, leaving the skier very puzzled.
She wrote: “I’ve never encountered this kind of situation in all my years of sending or receiving packages. My mom mailed me a phone from Anshan, but when I received the package, it turned out to be these strange things. The contents were swapped out somehow—who knows how to handle this?”
Xu Mengtao was born on July 12, 1990, in Anshan, Liaoning Province. She is a key member of China’s women’s freestyle skiing aerials team, and has represented China in the sport at both the Vancouver and Sochi Winter Olympics. She won the world championship at the 2013 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships in Norway, took silver at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, and was the defending overall champion of the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup.
