With the arrival of the first snowfall, another skiing season has begun in China’s Northeast. At 9:00 AM on November 14, the first ski run ceremony was held at the Vanke Songhua Lake Resort in Jilin City, Jilin Province.
This inaugural skiing event attracted a large number of skiing enthusiasts from both home and abroad. On the pristine slopes, athletes sped down like arrows released from their bows, leaving behind perfect arcs. In an instant, flying snowflakes, joyful laughter, cheering crowds, and competitive races blended into a vibrant winter wonderland.
The Vanke Songhua Lake Resort is located at the foot of Daqing Mountain in Jilin City and is one of the earliest ski resorts established in New China. It has now evolved from a single ski area model into a four-season mountain resort. Ding Changfeng, Senior Vice President of Vanke Group, explained that the successful bid for the Beijing Winter Olympics will drive rapid development in China’s skiing industry. Vanke Songhua Lake will continue to uphold the theme of “Love the Olympics, Love Skiing,” providing an international-level ski resort for winter sports enthusiasts.
It is understood that, in addition to offering standard ski runs, the Songhua Lake Resort’s slope design provides ample space for beginners, catering to the large beginner market in China. Moreover, a dedicated children’s area called “Panda Snowman” has been set up — one of the few ski schools in China specifically focused on children’s lessons — making the Songhua Lake Resort’s slopes truly unique.
In addition, the resort also offers services such as hotels and dining. Among them, the Qingshan Inn, ideal for family gatherings, the uniquely Japanese-style Prince Hotel, and the North American mountain-style Jilin One Restaurant form some of the resort’s key highlights.
Ding Changfeng stated that the Songhua Lake Ski Resort is positioned around the concept of “Joy and Sharing.” After a year of dedicated construction, the resort’s supporting facilities and services have become increasingly refined. He hopes that everyone who visits the Songhua Lake Resort will share the happiness they experience here, allowing more people to enjoy and spread the joy of skiing.
