On November 23, 2015, leading climbing brandKailas "Climbing System" & "Challenge Extreme Cold" – Shuangqiaogou Ice Climbing Activity Launchwas held in Guangzhou. The event officially introduced Kailas' 2016 brand trends and climbing system, and used the Shuangqiaogou ice climbing activity to inaugurate the 2016 climbing season. From December 31, 2015 to January 3, 2016, in Shuangqiaogou, Siguniang Mountain, Sichuan Province, Kailas will join climbing enthusiasts from across the country to "Challenge Extreme Cold." Through ice climbing—the coolest sport—they will brave icy extreme cold and physical limits, embarking on the 2016 climbing journey.
Jon Otto (Zeng Shan), a renowned American mountaineer and principal of Chengdu Leading Climbing School, leader of this Kailas ice climbing event, explained the event details to guests, which included:beginner ice climbing, ice wall rescue demonstrations and simulations, wilderness first aid training, dry tooling training and experience, how to lead ice climbs, and a series of high-altitude outdoor activities.Additionally, Kailas stores nationwide will offer a chance to participate in ice climbing for free when purchasing the "Extreme Cold Package."
At the launch, Mr. Zhu Zhaohui, representative of the Kailas brand, introduced the Kailas Climbing System to guests. This system is the collective name for Kailas’ resource-integrated marketing platform and represents the essence of years of accumulated climbing projects. The "Kailas Climbing System" consists of five modules: "Physical Training," "Outdoor Survival Training," "Rock Training," "Extreme Climbing," and "Recovery & Rest." Each module represents a stage in the climbing process and corresponds to a Kailas product series. It systematically divides the entire training journey for ordinary outdoor enthusiasts—from beginners to high-altitude climbers—into five stages. Through planned training, it helps everyday people grow into professional climbers.
Physical Training:emphasizes building the foundational fitness of mountaineers, with trail running events such as the Hong Kong 100 and Siguniang Mountain Trail Race as highlights. Trail running is the best way for mountaineers to build a fitness base. Due to varying altitudes and terrain conditions, it offers extremely diverse levels of training difficulty and intensity, which helps mountaineers gain sufficient adaptive climbing experience during their initial fitness accumulation phase.
Outdoor Survival:training emphasizes the technical operation of outdoor gear and the ability to adapt to outdoor environments. With outdoor skill training programs centered around Leading Climbing School, Outdoor Coaches Growth Program, and COACH-K, it helps more outdoor enthusiasts improve their survival skills.
Rock Training:is essential advanced skill training for mountaineers. Centered around the annual Kailas Bouldering Competition, "Rock Quest China," and Yangshuo Climbing Festival, it integrates traditional indoor fitness programs into a new system. During complex climbing journeys, climbers often encounter rock wall sections that require bouldering skills to pass. Therefore, bouldering proficiency directly impacts overall climbing capability.
Extreme Climbing:encompasses the comprehensive application of ice climbing, rock climbing, and mountaineering, serving as a litmus test for climbers facing complex and integrated climbing environments. Kailas actively promotes grassroots mountaineering and has created top-tier climbing platforms such as the "Unclimbed Peaks Project" and the "14 Peaks Over 8,000 Meters Climbing Project."
Recovery & Rest:helps climbers recover their physical and mental states after completing high-intensity and high-risk climbs. Many climbers experience a sudden mental relaxation post-climb, and this module quickly aids in restoring bodily functions and psychological well-being, minimizing the physical and mental toll of intense climbing activities. Its multidimensional rest-oriented training programs represent a new approach in professional climbing.
“The "Kailas Climbing System" is a comprehensive outdoor sports platform. Each system is built from different sports, providing high-quality athletic resources for outdoor enthusiasts. This is another major initiative by Kailas—following its strategic partnerships with the International Climbing Federation and the Chinese National Climbing Team—to advance the climbing cause.
