Asia Heartland News (Reporters Liu Jiaqing, Zeng Qin, Zhang Xiaomi) At 12:30 today, the China Western Ice and Snow Tourism Festival and the 10th China Xinjiang Winter Tourism Industry Trade Expo (referred to as the “Winter Expo”) will officially open at the Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center.
This edition of the Winter Expo will last for three days. It is jointly organized by the National Tourism Administration and the People’s Government of the Autonomous Region, and hosted by the Regional Tourism Bureau. The scale of the exhibition and the number of invited countries, regions, and foreign guests all exceed previous years. The exhibition has achieved new transformation and upgrading in both form and content: a “Belt and Road” Tourism Pavilion has been added to comprehensively showcase the distinctive culture and products of countries and cities along the route; a “Winter Expo Tourism Bazaar” area has been introduced, bringing together major tourism enterprises to enhance the trading function; and a New Tourism Formats Pavilion has been newly established, combining online and offline displays through “Internet+”, featuring joint exhibitions of new formats such as RV tourism and rural tourism.
The Urumqi Tourism Bureau has set up a 356-square-meter specially designed exhibition area, and in collaboration with various tourism enterprises across the city, has organized a variety of tourism promotion and interactive activities. Among them, this year the Urumqi Tourism Bureau has once again partnered with major ski resorts in the capital city to print 50,000 ski experience cards, which will be distributed free of charge to citizens at the exhibition site. Holders of the ski experience cards can ski at five ski resorts: Silk Road International Ski Resort, Baiyun International Ski Resort, Vist Ski Resort, Sunshine Ski Resort, and Xuelianshan Golf Lighted Ski Resort. They can also visit the Tianshan Grand Canyon scenic area to experience ice and snow entertainment activities.
