Reporters learned yesterday that dozens of ski resorts, including Nanshan Ski Resort and Shijinglong Ski Resort, have started trial operations. During the trial period, prices range from 29 to 51 yuan, offering discounts of up to nearly 10 times compared to regular operating prices. Analysts believe the successful bid for the Winter Olympics has driven the ski market's popularity, and the low prices of trial lift tickets are also a draw for consumers.
Most ski resorts in the suburbs of Beijing entered the trial operation phase between November 25 and 29. Except for Nanshan Ski Resort in Miyun and Shijinglong Ski Resort in Yanqing, the trial periods for the other resorts end on December 11.
During the trial period, the trial lift tickets offered by major ski resorts are significantly cheaper than regular operating prices. For example, at Beijing Huabei International Ski Resort, the trial lift ticket, which includes admission and ski equipment rental, is priced at 38 yuan per person, while a full-day weekend ticket during regular operations costs 360 yuan per person.
According to additional reports from Beijing Business Today, the ski resorts that have begun trial operations are seeing strong demand. Taking Beijing Nanshan Ski Resort in Miyun as an example, on the first weekend day of the trial period, visitor numbers reached around 3,000–4,000, accounting for more than 50% of the maximum reception capacity.
A market representative from Beijing Nanshan Ski Resort told Beijing Business Today that the 2,000 limited-entry ski spots released on the trial day were fully booked within two hours. Industry insiders believe that although the ski market has had a strong start, sustaining the momentum remains to be seen.
A relevant official from Beijing Badaling Ski Resort told Beijing Business Today that November 28 was the first day of the trial operation, with about 2,400 visitors that day, and yesterday, the second day, saw around 1,100 visitors.
