Report (By Li Chengzhen, Reporter, and Chen Hongxu, Intern) On November 28, the college student cross-country ski training event for the Changchun Jingyuetan Vasaloppet Ski Festival was officially launched. Students from 20 universities, including Jilin University, Northeast Normal University, Jilin Provincial Institute of Physical Education, and Changchun Guanghua University, participated in the training, which is expected to conclude in late December. The planned scale of this training exceeds 30,000 participants.
After the completion of this training, 500 top-performing students from universities in Changchun will be selected to form an elite student team to compete in the 5th National College Student Cross-Country Ski Race on December 24. The event will include men’s, women’s, and team categories, with race distances of 2 kilometers and 1.5 kilometers respectively. Some of the elite athletes will also take part in the opening race of the 2016 Jingyuetan Vasaloppet Ski Festival, to be held on January 4, 2016, at the Jingyuetan National Scenic Area.
