【Yellow River Three Gorges Scenic Area】
The Yellow River Three Gorges are located in Jiyuan, Henan, formed by the Xiaolangdi Dam and Wangwu Mountain, and they also represent the essence of the Xiaolangdi scenic area. The area features competing peaks, a harmonious blend of mountains and water, and each of the three gorges has its own unique charm. They embody the softness and grace of southern landscapes while retaining the rugged strength and masculinity of the north, combining the best of both.
Bali Hutong is situated at the narrowest point of the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, with sheer cliffs on either side and surging waters in between. Gushan Gorge is a masterpiece of nature with towering cliffs; Longfeng Gorge twists and turns through deep, serene valleys; Bali Gorge features steep, majestic cliffs and is hailed as the “First Gorge of the Yellow River.” This area boasts not only high gorges with calm lakes, crisscrossing bays, and numerous striking peaks and caves, but also a rich cultural heritage including the Yellow River culture of “Gun Hill and Yu’s Axe,” the beautiful legend of “Princess Jingniang Turning into a Phoenix,” the prayer culture of “Heavenly Blessed Land,” and the feng shui treasure land of “Rhino Gazing at the Moon.” It is praised as the “Yellow River Three Gorges, Imperial Landscape,” and is acclaimed as “the highest gorge-calm lake in the Central Plains, and a rare grand river bonsai in China.”
