The so-called “Five Golden Flowers” refer to five small villages in Sansheng Township: Hongsha Village (Flower Village Farmsteads), Xingfu Village (Happy Plum Forest), Fuma Village (Dongli Chrysanthemum Garden), Wanfu Village (Lotus Pond Moonlight), and Jiangjiayan Village (Jiangjia Vegetable Field), each offering floral beauty all year round.
Xingfu Village has been growing wintersweet for generations, with over 1,500 acres of plum blossom plantations, more than 200 varieties, and around 200,000 plants. Its acreage ranks first among China’s four major plum blossom regions, and its number of varieties is second only to Wuhan, making it the country’s second-largest. The main plum varieties planted here include Pinzimei, Jiangmei, Gongfen, Yudie, Zhusha,Chuizhi Mei (Weeping Plum),Xingmei (Apricot Plum), Yinglimei (Cherry-Plum Hybrid), and others.
The Happy Plum Forest scenic area features cultural landscapes such as the “Plum Blossom Knowledge Corridor,” “Screen Wall,” “Plum Poetry Corridor,” “Premium Plum Garden,” and “Plum Blossom Museum.” These are distributed along the “Plum-Viewing Path,” “Plum-Exploring Path,” and “Fragrant-Intoxication Path,” exuding rich cultural charm in a tranquil and elegant setting, fully showcasing the profound depth of China’s plum blossom culture. Four major scenic spots—“Famous Flower Garden,” “Western Sichuan Screen Wall,” “Gentleman’s Joy,” and “Three Friends of Winter”—are interspersed throughout the plum forest, highlighting its beauty and elegance. In this world of plum blossoms, visitors can not only admire exquisitely crafted plum bonsai and rare Chinese plum varieties but also learn about the deep connections between plum blossoms and Chinese spirit, literature, calligraphy, and painting, as well as the growth patterns, varieties, classifications, and methods for appreciating plum blossoms, offering a comprehensive experience of the unique charm of plum blossom culture.
