Chagan Lake Winter Fishing, also known as winter ice fishing (or ice fishing and hunting), is a traditional fishing production method (custom). As early as the Liao and Jin dynasties, Chagan Lake Winter Fishing was renowned. Though time has passed, the wonder, mystery, and sacredness of Chagan Lake Winter Fishing remain. Today,this spectacular event has been listed as a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage of Jilin Province and can only be seen from mid-December to mid-January each year.
