Sometimes you want noodles with a pork chop and egg toast in one meal, or crave midnight snacks but don’t feel like plain congee and pickles. Maybe you miss regular meal times and end up eating when most places are closed. If any of these sound familiar, you should check outthe “World Food Hub.”!

▲ The World Food Hub is now in its fourth generation.

Located on Guisui Street in Datong District, Taipei City, this 24-hour eatery offers an incredibly diverse menu, from breakfast sandwiches, radish cakes, soy milk, and youtiao (fried dough sticks) to fried rice and noodles, congee, and dumplings—over a hundred items in total. It’s enough to overwhelm hungry customers staring at the menu, tempted to order the whole table worth of dishes.

▲ The prices are quite reasonable.

▲ The wall-to-wall menu is one of its defining features.

Though we arrived close to 2 a.m., the place was packed, with a line of customers waiting for takeout. The owner was busy cooking, staff darted around, and business was booming. Patrons ranged from youngsters and night owls to shift workers starting their day in the wee hours.

▲ The seating outside was also full.

After checking online and seeing that stir-fried instant noodles were a popular choice, I ordered a plate ofStir-Fried Instant Noodles with Shredded Porkto try. The first bite brought the nostalgic aroma of traditional pork lard and scallions, with firm noodles and generous portions of pork. Though the dish looked simple, it was surprisingly satisfying.

▲ The stir-fried noodles had a rich scallion oil flavor.

As a breakfast enthusiast, I appreciated a place that serves breakfast all day. Perhaps due to the fast-paced service, the egg pancakes here had a more casual vibe—some egg bits even separated from the pancake—but overall, they were delicious. On nights when I’m not too hungry, an egg pancake with a cup of black tea hits the spot.

I initially thought a place selling everything might not excel in taste, but everything I tried was actually pretty good. Other popular items include fried rice, egg-fried rice, and stir-fried oyster vermicelli. I’d definitely come back to try more.
