Entering its 11th year, the Taichung Xinshe Flower Sea grandly opened on the 5th, running for 30 days. This year, it includes six exhibition halls, three major display areas, a total planting area of nearly 50 hectares, and a flower sea landscape area of about 30 hectares. According to visitors, about a week later—around mid-November—the flowers are expected to reach full bloom, making the scenery even more spectacular.

This year, with a brand-new visual concept centered around a peacock design, the event features a large flower sea landscape area, a ribbon-like flower sea made up of five different colors of cosmos, and six main exhibition halls, reflecting the concepts of “rural life, premium agricultural products, and local consumption.”

This year’s flower sea landscape area is divided into three major display zones: the main exhibition area, the flower sea landscape area, and the refined flower area.

Main Exhibition Area (pictured above)
Covering approximately 3 hectares, the main exhibition area is themed around a peacock, with its head created as a 3D floral installation. It also features the “Eye of the Earth” installation art and a flower wall inspired by peacock feathers, making it a popular photo spot for visitors. The body’s feathers are represented by a 22-hectare “flower sea landscape area” densely planted with colorful cosmos, rapeseed, and cosmos sulphureus.

Refined Flower Area
Next to the main exhibition area is the 1.6-hectare “Refined Flower Area,” showcasing small yet exquisite color variations in geometric patterns. During the one-month Xinshe Flower Sea event, a different theme will be featured every Sunday, with performances by various groups, allowing visitors to enjoy not only the flowers but also a variety of wonderful shows amidst the blooms.

Please note that this year the event is not being held jointly with the Taichung City Flower Carpet Festival, resulting in a budget reduction of over 50 million NTD compared to last year. Shuttle buses are now only available on weekends, and have been reduced from four routes to just one. Therefore, visitors should double-check bus schedules in advance to avoid waiting times that could dampen your outing.
