Last updated 2026-11-08 — The EAGLECREEK brand was born in the 1970s when outdoor activities were booming in the United States. In 1975, two American backpackers founded the brand, initially developing products for mountaineering and rock climbing. By 1980, EAGLECREEK noticed that travelers lacked suitable equipment, so they began creating specialized gear for them. "We had a new concept—to provide everything needed for passionate travel." And thus, a new category of travel was defined: ADVENTURE TRAVEL.
Q: What brands did UTC Travel bring to ISPO this time?
A: We are showcasing three brands at this exhibition. The American “exploration travel” expert EAGLECREEK; the San Francisco-based originator of the messenger bag, TIMBUK2; and the Canadian brand INUK, which pursues culture and art.

Q: You just mentioned the “exploration travel” expert. I’m curious about the travel brands you discussed. Could you introduce EAGLECREEK?
A: The EAGLECREEK brand was born in the 1970s when outdoor activities were booming in the United States.
To understand the evolution of the U.S. travel/outdoor market during that era, you can refer to the autobiography of Eagle Creek’s co-founder Ricky Schlesinger, titled *Inspired by Travel*.
Today, Eagle Creek is part of the VF Corporation.

As shown on the model, this carrying method ensures stability during movement while also allowing for convenient access to items.

Q: You just mentioned that the messenger bag is both sporty and convenient for accessing items. Could you introduce it?
A: You’ll know how convenient it is after using it once. There’s a video here that can give you a better idea.

Q: Is the messenger bag a type of bicycle bag?
A: The original messenger bag was indeed a bicycle bag. Today, people generally use it as an eco-friendly commuter bag. You can use it when biking, rollerblading, or skateboarding, or even with a subway + public bike commuting style. It also works with electric scooters.
Messenger bags are also very compatible with electronic devices, such as tablets and laptops, and their design allows for quick movement to the front of the body, making them more theft-resistant on public transport.
Of course, most importantly, the unique carrying method and stylish appearance are highly eye-catching.
Q: You also mentioned a brand designed for young people, INUK. Could you introduce it?
A: It’s only in recent years that China has started promoting the concept of “Outdoor Generation 2.0,” with GreenWoods being a pioneer in this area.
In Europe and America, there has long been a tradition of the Boy Scouts. There’s a movie, *Up*, where that annoying little chubby kid is a typical Boy Scout...
In China, there aren’t really any dedicated children’s products. We have baby products, but there aren’t many specifically for children and teenagers. We tend to treat children as mini-adults. As the saying goes, there’s a kind of cold called “your mom thinks you’re cold.”
INUK is a Canadian brand we represent. This brand promotes both cultural and ethnic identity, as well as the preferences and needs of children and teenagers.
