2016Year4Month16Day, the Beijing Spring Urban Cross-Country Race and the5Channel Love Run Cross-Country First Experience were grandly held at Beijing Xishan National Forest Park. On one of the most beautiful April days in Beijing,1000runners enthusiastically took part, enjoying the blossoms and greenery while personally experiencing Love Run’s philosophy of using sports to delight loved ones.
This was the5Channel’s original event, Love Run’s overall6th stop, as well as the2016year’s1th stop.2015In2Month at Beijing Olympic Forest Park,6Month at Shanghai Dayutang Park,12Month at Suzhou Bailuyuan Park, Kunming Colorful Yunnan Ancient Dian City, and Beijing Olympic Forest Park, Love Run held5stops; there was also a nationwide online New Year’s Eve Love Run. In the2015year, Love Run had already spread across the nation, reaching hundreds of thousands of running enthusiasts. And on2016Year4Month16Day, Love Run expanded into a new field – trail running.
Trail running has developed rapidly in China over the past two years. The cross-country first experience12km race launched by Love Run this time belongs to theCrosscountry Runningcategory of trail running, featuring relatively small elevation gain, high route maturity, low technical difficulty, and strong runnability. It is a trail race format suitable for widespread participation, especially for those new to trail running.
François D’Haene, currently the world’s top ultra-trail runner, also came to the event site to interact closely with the Love Run participants. D’Haene has won many ultra-trail championships, but he also loves the lighter side of trail running and believes in the philosophy of using sports to delight loved ones. This time, he also accompanied his wife in completing the race. D’Haene said, “The course is beautiful and comfortable, and the Chinese runners are very enthusiastic.”
One participant said, “Most people get into trail running from road running, feeling that trail running is a bit more challenging and has a higher tone. Today was truly my first Love Run trail experience, and I experienced the wonderful feeling of light trail running with its stunning scenery and ups and downs.”
Another runner said, “What moved me the most today was seeing the world’s top ultra-trail runner competing alongside those who have just started this sport, all encouraging each other – it was truly touching.”
