Issue 15, 2016 | Overall Issue 61
Fellow food enthusiasts, as you may already know, a few weeks ago we shared food recommendations for 12 cities. That night, the enthusiasm of the foodies was simply unstoppable—we didn’t wrap up until 1:30 a.m. the next day, and everyone left the lounge with lingering regrets.
That evening, I received some complaints from a few friends who practically held a knife to my throat and said, “Chuyi, don’t move.”
I said, “I didn’t dare move—what’s the issue?”
They replied, “Chuyi, this was really unfair. When talking about food, how could you leave out Chengdu and Guangzhou?”
They also added, “How could you skip Taiwan and Macau?”
And they went on, “We also want to hear about Xining, Lanzhou, and Hulunbuir.”
Someone else even said, “Guizhou’s Guiyang must be included!” I moved their knives away and said, “It’s no big deal. Chuyi knows a lot of talented and friendly people. Next time, I’ll feature local food recommendations for these eight cities. But since you all spoke so loudly, will you actually show up?”
I think it’s a good idea to cover both Guiyang and Anshun—they both have a rich variety of snacks.

As everyone knows, lamb is the staple meat for Mongolians and people across Inner Mongolia. Hulunbuir lamb is tender, smooth, fragrant, delicious, green, and healthy—its fame spreads far and wide.
