In the current landscape of domestic cycling, various competitions are emerging rapidly and event information is constantly evolving. Amidst the rise of numerous elite riders, there is one race that is rich in history, sentiment, and camaraderie. This is the "National University Mountain Bike Exchange Race," organized by the top student club from China’s leading higher education institutions — the first university cycling association in China and the leader among university cycling clubs nationwide: the Peking University Cycling Association. Having successfully held this event for thirteen consecutive years, growing from nothing to something significant, the Peking University Cycling Association has continuously strived for innovation and exerts tremendous influence both within and beyond the university cycling community. It has become an annual classic event for university cycling clubs across the country and is affectionately referred to as the "Peking University Race" by friends from fellow clubs.
Now,the JD Sports Cup ·10thFourthPeking University Race is about to commence. The event includes5a university joint cycling activity on the1410th,as well as afriendshipevening party,andthe5official race on the1511th.Building on the brilliant achievements of last year’s Peking University Race and the valuable experience gained from co-hosting with a professional event,this year’s Peking University Racewill return to being independently organized,but the quality of the competition will continue to steadily improve. 1. Continuously Expanding Scale
Since1998the year when Peking University Cycling Association hosted the“Peking University——Badaling”Capital University Students' Cycling Rally, the influence of the Peking University Cycling Race has gradually expanded with an increasing number of participating universities and riders, growing into a large-scale university cycling event that spans the northern region and attracts riders from all walks of life. By2015, the number of participants in the Peking University Cycling Race had exceeded800people, with98university cycling associations taking part, hailing from all over the country — including nearby associations from Beijing and Hebei, as well as those traveling from Shanxi, Shandong, Henan, Gansu and other provinces,and even friends from Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, and Hainan Province who made the long journey to attend.In 2014,two members of the University of Macau Cycling Association even flew to Beijing to participate in the race after hearing about it.According to current statistics from the official event website,2016theJD Sports Cup · 14th “Peking University Cycling Race” is expected to attract over 100universities and1000participants,continuingto push the limits of scale for student-run events.
2015That year, the Peking University Cycling Association, together with“the Peking University Cycling Race,”joined the largest amateur cycling event in northern China———SHIMANOthe Cyclists’ Festival.Through collaboration with the SHIMANO Cyclists’ Festival, the Peking University Cycling Association learnedprofessional event organization,and the experience gained willgreatly enhance the participant experience at the 2016 Peking University Cycling Race.Specifically, this year’s Peking University Cycling Race will continue to useAsia’s top-tier cycling course———the Yongding River Cycling Park track. Managed byGuangtian Sports, the course was designed and built with the help ofinternational experts and has become a long-awaited cycling destination for riders from all over.Additionally, experts from the Chinese University Cycling Association and veteran figures in the sports community have offered many constructive suggestions for the race and have championed the university club within the industry. For race timing and officiating, the Peking University Cycling Association received professional electronic timing system support from XinTaiMing Sports. The Deputy Secretary-General of the Beijing Cycling Association also served as the chief judge, providing authoritative guidance. For safety and medical support, the Peking University Cycling Association invited the Swan Rescue Team to serve as the medical emergency crew for the Peking University Cycling Race, ensuring reliable medical coverage for participants. For media coverage, leading industry media LeSports provided a video distribution platform, while QiErWuBi added a wealth of fun cycling cultural elements, bringing the latest updates to cycling clubs nationwide. A series of professional media outlets—including Danche Zhi, Lvye Net, Meiqi Net, Qimeng Net, and the YeShou App—also provided convenient channels for releasing news about this year’s Peking University Cycling Race. All of this reflects the industry's recognition of the Peking University Cycling Association’s fourteen years of dedication and growth.Regarding event registration, the Peking University Cycling Association independently developed and designed the official race website race.chexie.net, which has provided participating universities with convenient access to event information and online registration since its launch. In 2016, the title sponsor of the Peking University Cycling Race, JD Sports, strongly supported the association’s event organization efforts by enabling online payment options. This year, the Peking University Cycling Race finally achieved a one-stop online registration process, making the entire organization more efficient and professional.
3.A more open model of collaboration
At this year's Peking University Cycling Race,the Peking University Cycling Association will make more effective use of the influence and social impact built over a decade of dedication. It will collaborate extensively with various sectors of society, whether bicycle manufacturers and elite cyclists, cultural promotion enterprises, or cycling app developers—all will“at the Peking University Cycling Race”showcase their presence, providing a platform for university cycling enthusiasts to engage with society and witness the booming development of China’s cycling scene.JD Sports, the sports division of China’s leading e-commerce platform JD.com, possesses high-quality industry resources and integrates top-tier forces to make a strong impact on the domestic sports arena.
