Change 1: Optimized route offers even more beautiful scenery

To ensure participants enjoy a better hiking experience, this year’s Walk the Walk route has been carefully redesigned. While continuing to pass through iconic scenic spots in Changping such as the Juyongguan Great Wall, Juyongguan Folk Village, Huyu Nature Scenic Area, Ming Tombs Scenic Area, the Four Famous Banquets Folk Village of the Ming Tombs, Dayushan Scenic Area, Flower Sea section, and Changping New Town Riverside Forest Park, the route has added new stops including the Dalingshuo Kiwifruit Valley Scenic Area, Mayufang Folk Village, Tianchi Scenic Area, and Mangshan National Forest Park. Participants and support teams can experience the local cuisine and beautiful landscapes of Changping’s folk villages firsthand.

Change 2: From meeting basic needs to providing companionship and care

In the first two editions of Walk the Walk, the funds raised were used in Weining County, Guizhou, to provide children with love kitchens and care packages to ensure they were well-fed and clothed.2016This year, the focus has deepened further to include companionship for children, introducing the “Companion Plan” to support left-behind children. This initiative will establish “Companion Homes” for these children and hire full-time “Companion Moms” to take care of their welfare and safety.

Change 3: First-ever medical team andAEDmedical rescue enhance safety

2016The scale of Walk the Walk will remain at2015’s800official teams, but there are new types of teams this year — the first-ever10medical teams and10environmental supervision teams. The medical teams will serve as supplementary medical support on-site, while the environmental supervision teams will be responsible for monitoring environmental protection during the event and cleaning the trail afterward.

2016The safety system for this year’s Walk the Walk is more comprehensive than ever. In addition to the existing medical staff at stations,AEDmedical rescue services have been added, with mandatory medical checks at certain stations to ensure participants are physically fit. Ambulances will be stationed along the route, and rescue teams from China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation Rescue and Blue Sky Rescue will be on standby to respond to emergencies.

Change 4: Online Walk the Walk launched

Due to limited road capacity, the scale of Walk the Walk cannot expand indefinitely each year. The first two editions saw overwhelming demand, with participation determined by lottery. To allow more members of the public who are passionate about charity and sports to take part, China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation will launch an Online Walk the Walk on9month10day via the咕咚 platform. The public can choose to participate individually or as a team, or make donations online.APPThe online "Good Walker" event was launched, where the public can participate either individually or in teams, and also make charitable donations online.

As China’s largest commercial enterprise, Suning’s development since its founding1990has always been a journey of “doing good.” Over the past26years, Suning has consistently regarded contributing to society and caring for the community as an important corporate social responsibility.
