Drawn by enthusiastic online reviews, I made a special trip to Lv’s Potstickers next to RT-Mart in Yonghe. Open all afternoon — my favorite dining time.

I ordered:
Ten dumplings (NT$50)
Ten potstickers (NT$50)
One bowl of spicy and sour soup (NT$20)

Fewer customers during the afternoon hours.

The menu is simple.

The dumplings were indeed made fresh.

Out of curiosity, I asked around. It turns out the owner is the former proprietor of the well-known Jiang’s Eatery by Yongfu Bridge. He moved here three years ago, and his wife’s brother now runs the old restaurant.

Lv’s spicy and sour soup is very affordable, with thick, substantial tofu strips that have a strong presence. The mild spiciness from the pepper is just right. The dumplings are small, but the filling is well-seasoned. The wrappers are nothing special, but they complement the filling perfectly. Overall, these freshly made dumplings are quite enjoyable and satisfying.

The more prominent tofu strips.

Dumplings with chili sauce are also great.

What truly won me over were the potstickers — they suit my taste even better than the famous Jiājiāxiāng in Zhongyonghe. They’re on the smaller side; those with big mouths could even swallow one whole. At first, the slightly crispy bottom and the soft, tender filling meld together, then burst with juice. Not a single one disappoints — truly a delight.

I haven’t had such delicious potstickers in ages.

Aside from dumplings and potstickers, they barely sell anything else. Lv’s seems to be focusing on perfecting just this one dish — and for me, they’ve definitely succeeded.
