Gaining fame for its unique design, the "Mermaid’s Hill" is built in a spiral structure, stacking layer by layer from the bottom up. Its pure white color gives it the appearance of a whipped cream cake hit by an enlargement light—it's so cute that it has melted the hearts of netizens, sparking lively discussions online.
According to online sources, this Penghu homestay was inspired by how intertidal creatures build sand dunes along the shore. White inclined columns are adorned with colorful decorations symbolizing magical gemstones, and all guests are imagined as mermaids, making the building a tiny underwater palace for them.

Located next to Wude Coast, besides its dreamlike tower-like design, the building features a 360-degree surrounding waterway where mermaids can swim and play, enjoying cheerful afternoons with friends, delighting both adults and children who stay here. The spiral staircase on the side is also eye-catching—standing two stories high and designed like a birdcage, it exudes a unique industrial aesthetic.

The interior rooms follow a minimalist fairy-tale style. From the glowing seaweed-filled Seaweed Eden to the Mermaid Princess Room featuring a bedhead mermaid emblem, the design is clean yet fun. With five floors in total, every level has guest rooms—except for the first floor which offers a four-person room, the rest are all double rooms. Each room also boasts wide views, allowing guests to enjoy breathtaking ocean scenery.

The operator has also hidden thoughtful touches indoors. On closer inspection, the bathroom walls in several rooms are made of pop-style tiles, combining artistic flair with a slight futuristic feel. Some netizens say it feels like stepping into a little space built from LEGO blocks—an impression that really stands out.

As the intertidal zone is home to many fish, Mermaid’s Hill also offers free toast so you can enjoy the fun of feeding fish.
