As one of Suzhou’s “Social Practice Experience Stations for Minors,” the Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourism Resort has always been committed to integrating the development of the resort with the healthy growth of young people. In recent years, the resort has launched numerous projects and activities targeting youth and family visitors, gradually becoming a top choice for family outdoor outings. This Kids’ Painting Suzhou · 10,000 People Painting Competition, as part of the series “Home in Suzhou, Growing with e,” is jointly organized under the guidance of the Suzhou Civilization Office and Suzhou Education Bureau, in collaboration with the SIP Civilization Office, SIP Education Bureau, and Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourism Resort. It covers all primary and secondary school students across the city, aiming to use the creative theme “New Images of Suzhou.” It encourages children to perceive the new look and beauty of Suzhou through their hearts, to express their deep affection for Suzhou and gratitude for a happy life through their brushes, while also showcasing the new leisure and vacation image of the Yangcheng Lake Peninsula. The event also establishes the peninsula as the best destination for families to connect with nature and enjoy leisure time.

A total of 50,000 sheets of drawing paper will be distributed for this competition, with four categories: Lower Grades (Grades 1–2), Middle Grades (Grades 3–4), Upper Grades (Grades 5–6), and Junior High (Grades 7–8). Awards include 40 “Best Creativity Awards,” 40 “Best Performance Awards,” 40 “Best Art Awards,” 20 “Painting Prodigy Awards,” and 3,000 “Little Painting Artists.” Additionally, winning artworks will be exhibited on the Yangcheng Lake Peninsula in December.

Customized Routes – Enjoy the Fun of Autumn Travel

One golden autumn peninsula, countless ways to play. This year, while retaining classic routes, the resort highlights seasonal features by launching four special autumn routes: “Happy Family Tour with Little Ones,” “Leisure and Energy Tour with Food and Sports,” “Lakeside Autumn Scenery Crab-Tasting Sightseeing Tour,” and “Clouds and Water Zen Retreat Tour.” Visitors can also design their own experiences, such as cycling along the lakeside bike path, joining a peninsula orienteering activity, immersing themselves in nature for endless fun; visiting the thousand-year-old Shiyuan Temple to pray for blessings in a serene water-and-sky Buddhist realm; or choosing a lakeside farmhouse to savor plump, golden Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs. A trip to the peninsula is full of joy.

After the press conference, invited media and recruited citizens and tourists also experienced lakeside cycling and the smart bike rental service at the “Cycling Encounter Station.” Everyone spoke highly of the convenient smart rental system at the station, which met the needs of “mobile travel,” and enjoyed the pleasure of “cycling around the peninsula.”

Suzhou Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourism Resort is located on the northern side of Suzhou Industrial Park, on the southern shore of Yangcheng Lake, covering a total area of 24.39 square kilometers, including approximately 9 square kilometers of inland water area. It is an important sector for Suzhou Industrial Park in developing its leisure and vacation industry and accelerating transformation and upgrading. Since planning began in 2005, the resort’s tourism projects have opened one after another, its tourism offerings have continuously expanded, and its popularity and commercial vitality have grown steadily, creating a unique charm that is “geographically close to the city yet psychologically far from it.” It paints a picture of a modern, international, and garden-style new waterfront leisure and wellness resort, showcasing a happy life by the water. Since October 2015, the peninsula resort has been among the first batch of 17 “National Tourism Resorts” approved by the National Tourism Administration. It has continued to innovate and improve its operations. The 2016 “Autumn Tour of the Peninsula” event breaks away from the traditional impression of the Yangcheng Lake area being only about crab tasting and fishing life experiences, offering a wider range of leisure and vacation programs to enrich the visitor experience and providing an ideal destination for a golden autumn holiday.
