This time, DaKou is here to introduce a special culinary gem for you all!Located on Zhonghua Road in Bade District, Taoyuan City, “嘎浪汉和料理 (Gǎlàng Hàn-Hé Liàolǐ)” is the newly expanded branch after the relocation of Shu Sushi, originally based in downtown Taoyuan. “嘎浪 (Gǎlàng)” means “tribe” in the Seediq language, symbolizing a sense of “hometown.” The restaurant’s ocean-themed appearance, paired with its blue interior and cloud murals, offers a refreshing visual experience. The menu is diverse—beyond its strong Japanese roots, it also integrates Taiwanese snacks and indigenous cuisine, creating inventive dishes that satisfy a wide range of diners’ tastes!

%Just look at this image of the building—the restaurant is situated in the bustling Xuefu area. Next to the Xuefu Department Store and the Xuefu Cinema, you’ll find it not far from Xuefu Park. It won’t take long to spot once you’re in the area. They also offer parking, with the entrance right next to the storefront, making it very convenient.

%The main dining area is located on the second floor, and the entrance is easily accessible. The interior exudes a strong maritime vibe, complemented by cloud paintings that give off a bright and airy feel. Most of the seating is in 4–6 person booths, offering spacious and comfortable arrangements. There’s also karaoke equipment up front, with performances happening occasionally.

%The menu offers quite a selection, including sashimi, nigiri sushi, and raw fish dishes.<、创意寿司、冷菜手卷、汤品、烤物、炸物、炒物、创意料理、午餐定食、甜点、饮品、手调等,选择还不少,可以满足饕客的各种需求。

%One of the standout dishes is the grilled squid, which comes with a side of pickled vegetables. The squid is tender and chewy, giving off a very appetizing aroma.

%The pièce de résistance is the luxurious seafood platter featuring king crab.<饭(Priced at NT$1,399, the second bowl is only an additional NT$1 during the opening period), which includes a variety of fresh sashimi, alongside a king crab salad and scallops. It's not just a feast for the eyes and taste buds—it’s incredibly generous too. You can barely even see the vinegar rice!

%The dish is also generously topped with sea urchin, salmon roe, scallops, octopus, tuna, abalone, and seaweed, looking both colorful and lavish.

%There’s also pickled seaweed, which has a crispy texture with a slight spiciness, refreshing and appetizing.

%In addition, their seafood hot pot also reflects a similar philosophy. The combination of assorted seafood and broth is rich yet balanced. The angel shrimp is especially sweet, tender, and juicy, delivering a full oceanic flavor that’s extremely satisfying. As for the king crab salad, there’s no need to say more—the firm, springy texture of the meat pairs wonderfully with the sweet and smooth dressing. The scallops are lightly seared beforehand, resulting in a tender interior with a slightly caramelized exterior and a lovely sweetness that’s simply delightful.

%Next up is the Fried Shrimp Caterpillar Sushi (NT$240).It’s somewhat reminiscent of a California roll, but the ingredients look quite generous and substantial.

%The shrimp is layered atop vinegared rice, along with tuna, salmon, scallops, ham, cheese, and lettuce, making for a richly composed dish.

%Not only does it have the umami of seafood, but it also includes layers of different textures and flavors. The presentation is quite elevated, and it’s definitely one of the more unique offerings.

%Now onto the Grilled Cheese King Crab Legs (generously portioned).(NT$980, special opening price NT$680), and let’s just say these king crab legs are seriously huge—a true display of generosity.

%The shells are brushed with miso and grilled, looking utterly indulgent and mouthwatering.

%The crab meat is so sweet and juicy, with a nice charred aroma from the grill. It’s incredibly satisfying and leaves a lasting impression. The grilled aroma is simply irresistible.

%Next is the Three-Tier Skewer BBQ Set (NT$780).At first glance, it almost looks like an afternoon tea stand—but instead of sweets, it’s loaded with an assortment of skewered grilled meats.

%You can enjoy a variety of flavors here, making it perfect for sharing when dining with a group.

%It’s considered one of the more premium options, and the selection of meats provided varies each time—you’ll always get at least 4–5 different types of meat.

%The flavors of each skewer differ, ensuring you never get bored. We tried five skewers, and each had its own distinct taste.

%The chicken skewers aren’t overly seasoned, letting the natural flavor shine through.

%The pork belly is also a fan favorite, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich flavor.

%The beef skewers are equally popular, with a tender texture and just the right amount of fat. They’re juicy and flavorful without being greasy.

% Strong> Bread Box with Seafood (150 TWD), this is also a creative dish by the chef.

% Just as the chef was about to plate another creation, what did he come up with? A dish that looked quite plain at first glance...

% At first glance, the dish seemed to have nothing special — just some ordinary ingredients. But when combined skillfully, it transformed into something truly impressive. The contrast between textures and flavors created a dish that was both visually appealing and delicious.

% Strong> Lemon Grilled Paper-Wrapped Fish (150 TWD), garnished with lemon slices and chopped scallions on the side, which you can add according to your preference.

% The chef also prepared a light soy-based sauce, which not only enhanced the flavor of the fish but also prevented it from being too dry.

% When you take a bite, you’ll find the texture incredibly satisfying. The fish has a delicate flavor, and the lemon adds a refreshing note that cuts through the richness — it’s a really refreshing and tasty dish.

% Strong> Lei Gong Cake (80 TWD), also one of the chef’s creative offerings.

% In fact, this dish is a modern take on a traditional Japanese mochi. It's topped with a layer of salmon and drizzled with a sweet sauce.

% When you take a bite, you get the aroma of rice paired with the subtle umami of the salmon, and the sweet soy sauce at the bottom ties everything together wonderfully.

% Strong> Alishan Beef Noodles (160 TWD), this beef noodle dish offers a choice between clear broth or braised style — we went with the clear broth, which really lets the quality of the broth shine. On the side, there are pickled vegetables, scallions, cilantro, and chili, all of which you can customize to your liking.

% The noodles were springy yet tender, with a satisfying chew and a rich umami flavor that made us fall in love at first bite.

% Even the broth had a deep, satisfying taste. It’s said that this bowl of Alishan beef noodles was developed in collaboration with judges from the Taipei Beef Noodle Festival — no wonder it tastes so impressive.

% Strong> Semi-Smoked Cheese Tart (120 TWD), featuring layers that are crispy and flaky on the outside, with a sweet, soft, and fluffy filling inside. The sweetness level is just right, and it’s especially delicious when served warm.
